Main Use
AD-304 is a UV protector in microsphere form that protects plastics from sunlight. It prevents the polymer from degrading outdoors.
How does it work?
- It is incorporated evenly into the plastic resin during manufacturing.
- When exposed to sunlight, it neutralizes free radicals and stops photodegradation from its earliest stages.
- Its main role is to protect the polymer structure and extend the service life of the parts.
- It does not protect the color, although it helps products maintain a better exterior appearance.
Advantages and Benefits
- It protects against yellowing, gloss loss, and brittleness caused by sun exposure.
- It effectively “recharges” by continuously capturing free radicals.
- It improves the durability and appearance of the plastic.
- High thermal stability during processing.
- Compatible with UV absorbers for extra protection.
Plastic resins where it can be used
It can be used with a wide range of plastic resins such as:
- High-Density Polyethylene
- Low-Density Polyethylene
- Linear Low-Density Polyethylene
- Polypropylene
- General-Purpose Polystyrene
- High- or Medium-Impact Polystyrene
- PVC compounds
- SAN
- TPU
- EVA
Production processes where it can be used
- Injection
- Extrusion
- Blow molding
- Thermoforming
Suggested Dosage
| Resin type | Suggested % |
|---|---|
| PE / PP | 0.1 - 0.5 % |
| Polystyrene | 0.2 - 0.6 % |
| ABS | 0.2 - 0.5 % |
| Polyamides | 0.3 - 0.8 % |
In general, we recommend using between 1.0 and 1.5 grams per kilogram of resin.
